Art
from the Heart is a 501© non-profit organization reaching out to children of low-income families by
providing after-school enrichment programs. Our program gives children
the opportunity to be actively involved in the arts – they
become the artist, the performer, and the audience member.
Art from the Heart was founded in 2007,
however the partners, Kathy Eggert and Sheila Jones, possess years
of experience working with children and the arts.
Our program is focused on children in need, who might otherwise
not have the opportunity to take music, voice, art, dance classes
or to see a live performance. Our goal is to empower these children,
build their self-confidence, and give them the opportunity to develop
an appreciation and love of the arts.
Art From The Heart will locate, coordinate, schedule, oversee
and support guest artists. Eggert and Jones will also be using their
experience in the arts to bring to life a musical production rehearsed,
produced and performed by the students themselves.
Eggert and Jones are continuously focused on learning and developing the inner-workings
of a successful outreach program. Art From The Heart works
with children in after- school programs that are basically State
funded. Sadly, these State funds offer no additional resources to
provide art enrichment. Art From The Heart will focus on
researching and cultivating potential funding sources
